The studies were done by the Institute of functional medicine and traditional Chinese therapists from the UK.

The most common findings were

In the US, all of the case studies had 2 x PCR tests which were both negative.
Numerous blood tests which included CRP, D DIMERS, IL2, IL4, IL6, ESR, NKT CD8 apart from many others were drawn.

Treatment
Was graded
Natural medicine and vitamins
Some were given western meds such as nicotinamide riboside, urolithin A, atovastatin etc
Consistent treatment with most of the patients been placed in what became post Covid-19 rehab centers
Acupuncture had been given to the UK patients daily or every 3rd day and most patients were front line workers that had a higher viral load.
Exercise routines were graded
New goal setting was done
Sleep routines were changed to accommodate breaks between the day.

In Conclusion
It was noted that irrespective of the patient having had mild, moderate or severe symptoms during the active period of the virus, irrespective of hospitalization or home treatment, between 30 to 60 % of patients that were infected with the virus suffered long term side effects.

From relapsing into past or healed ailments to developing diabetes or hypothyroidism to name a few, patients are struggling worse after Covid-19.

Unfortunately with the disease still in its infant years, the effects that have risen are only yet in its early stages. The long term effects are yet to be researched.

The use of Chinese herbs, acupuncture, quercetin, medicinal mushrooms and vitamins have found its place in the management of these patients.

Both studies showed that patients progressively healed from week to week, however with steep inclines and declines reaching new peaks each time.

Setbacks were experienced when patients found themselves feeling well and over exerted themselves thus causing the developing cells to die off due to mitochondrial dysfunction and chronic dysbiosis.

Setbacks were also seen as patients exerted themselves and were placed in highly stressful situations, were faced with difficulties in lifestyle or unhealthy diets and sleeping habits.
